Finally finished this table topper that I started 2 years ago. I named it "Crazy Corn" The pattern is from Fons & Porter Easy Quilts - Fall 2011. Since Fall is officially here, the topper has a place of honor on my kitchen table.

San Francisco Stitch Company's Spring Spellbinder 2013 Wall Hanging
I love San Francisco Stitch Company's embroidery designs. They've just started a mystery wall hanging called "Spring Spellbinder 2013." The theme is taking a trip to somewhere in the world. Each week they send you a design to stitch out. I'm loving it. The designs are beautiful, the instructions are complete, and it's fun to see what the next week will bring. I have just finished the designs for weeks one, two, and three.
Have any idea where we might be going?

New Potholders to Cheer My Kitchen
My old potholders had seen better days. I decided to make two new ones. Used the leftover fabric from a purse I made for my granddaughter. Also incorporated the owl that I had embroidered earlier. The design is from Hatched in Africa. I am pleased with how they turned out. They should add a cheerful note to my kitchen.

Craftsy BOM 2013 - First 3 Blocks
On a whim, I decided to join the Craftsy BOM for 2013. What could I lose? The class was free and I determined to use fabric that is in my stash. So no cost...just my time. The class focuses on various blocks, many of which I have never made before. Free class -- no cost for material -- chance to work on my piecing accuracy. How could I lose.
I've made 3 blocks (can't believe I am not behind) and I am beginning to like the way the blocks are coming together. I love starting with a little bit of this and a little bit of that and not knowing how it's going to turn out until it's done.

Woke up today with a miserable cold...you know the kind - sneezing, runny nose, ringing ears, etc. What do you do when you can't go out and you're feeling lousy and starting to get depressed. You embroider a cheerful owl to make you feel better and lift your spirits. I love the way it turned out and I feel a little better already. Think I will make it into a pot holder. My current potholders have seen better days.

My first blog....
This is my first post. The purpose of my blog is to share my love of fabric (quilting, embroidery, needle arts, etc.) with others who share my creative passion. I live a very busy life and working with fabric calms me down and reduces my stress.
This year (2013) my goal is 3-fold:
(1) Buy no new fabric unless absolutely necessary to complete a project. Instead I want to use all the beautiful fabric I have purchased over the last five years. I am running out of storage space in my sewing room and I don't want to become a hoarder.
(2) Finish my UFO's (also known as Unfinished projects).
(3) Spend more time with embroidery designs (both digitizing and stitching out). I have lots of purchased designs and embroidery software that I purchased a few year ago. About time I start learning how to use it.
Well, that's enough for now. I hope to expand this blog to include pictures, links, projects, etc.
but one thing at a time and one day at a time.
